I trust everyone had a fun and relaxing summer. This year is a year of transition and change. We have a new principal, new teachers, and new aides. We also have familiar teachers, aides, and schedules.
Some new items for me: I will be teaching music and basic Spanish to ALL students in Kindergarten to eighth grade. Yep, that's right junior high, !Hola, es Sr. Koch! ?Me recuerdas? I will also be teaching everyone theses subjects in a different room. I am now Ms. Shaffer's neighbor in room 205.
Handchimes and Select Choir will continue to rehearse after school. Handchimes will meet on Wednesdays and Select Choir will meet on Thursdays. Both ensembles will practice from 3:15-4:30 p.m. Dauphin County Chorus members will rehearse on a rotating schedule during the school day closer to the concert.
2014 is also the 200th Anniversary of the poem 'The Defense of Fort McHenry.' Once again, the 'Star Spangled Banner' will be our first order of business in music class. Start practicing and memorizing.
As you will find out on the first day, we want to make this school year a year of being 'MORE AWESOME!'
I'll see everyone on Monday!
